Cornering Techniques

$250.00/driver

Since roads are not all straight, turning the wheel is an essential part of driving. Learning how to negotiate Lines and Apexes is a very important part of everyday driving. Participants will learn how to choose the best line through a turn /corner. Choosing the best line allows a driver to have more traction control as well as a better line of sight. Constant, increasing and decreasing radius turns will be discussed as well as theory on controlling under-steer and over-steer.

Program Content

  • Short chalk-talk (lecture)
  • Hands-on drills such as:
    • Lines and Apexes - constant radius, increasing and decreasing, two continuous turns.
    • Heel-toe shifting (if applies to car) and trail braking
    • High-speed slalom
  • Time Trial Drill (includes an afternoon driving around our mile long cone course)

It is preferred but not mandatory that you have attended Understanding Vehicle Dynamics prior to Cornering.
